The Rolling Stones Tattoo You (1981) 40th Anniversary CD 2021 Polydor UK ••NEW••

The Rolling Stones – Tattoo You 40th Anniversary Edition CD 1981, 2021 Universal / Polydor EU THE ROLLING STONES TATTOO YOU (40th Anniversary Edition) AUDIO CD BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED Universal International Music 382 846-0 UPC | 602438284603 1981, 2021 Tattoo You celebrates 40 years with the release of a brand new remastered edition of the chart topping, multiplatinum album. The 40th anniversary edition, remastered by Stephen Marcussen, includes such enduring favorites as ‘Hang Fire’, ‘Waiting On A Friend’ (showcasing jazz saxophone giant Sonny Rollins) and of course the opening track that’s been a band signature ever since, ‘Start Me Up’. TRACK LISTING 01. Start Me Up 02. Hang Fire 03. Slave 04. Little T & A 05. Black Limousine 06. Neighbors 07. Worried About You 08. Tops 09. Heaven 10. No Use In Crying 11. Waiting On A Friend “ Like Emotional Rescue before it, Tattoo You was comprised primarily of leftovers, but unlike its predecessor, it never sounds that way. Instead, Tattoo You captures the Stones at their best as a professional stadium-rock band. Divided into a rock & roll side and a ballad side, the album delivers its share of thrills on the tight, dynamic first side. ‘Start Me Up’ became the record’s definitive Stonesy rocker, but the frenzied doo wop of ‘Hang Fire’, the reggae jam of ‘Slave’, the sleazy Chuck Berry rockers ‘Little T&A’ and ‘Neighbours’, and the hard blues of ‘Black Limousine’ are all terrific. The ballad side suffers in comparison, especially since ‘Heaven’ and ‘No Use in Crying’ are faceless. But ‘Worried About You’ and ‘Tops’ are effortless, excellent ballads, and ‘Waiting on a Friend’, with its Sonny Rollins sax solo, is an absolute masterpiece, with a moving lyric that captures Jagger in a shockingly reflective and affecting state of mind. ‘Waiting on a Friend’ and the vigorous rock & roll of the first side make Tattoo You an essential latter-day Stones album, ranking just a few notches below Some Girls.” ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, AllMusic SHIPPING TO USA ONLY Buyer Pays Shipping 1st CD $3.99… each additional $1.50 CDs will only be combined with other CDs or DVDs To qualify for the combined discount, all items must be purchased together, paid for with 1 payment, and shipped all together in 1 shipment. The 2020 Deluxe edition features the new stereo album mix, sourced from the original session tapes and 10 bonus tracks including three previously unreleased songs – ‘Scarlet’, ‘All The Rage’, and ‘Criss Cross’. Goats Head Soup was released in August 1973 by Rolling Stones Records. Goats Head Soup was recorded in Jamaica, the United States and the United Kingdom and mixed in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The album contains 10 tracks, including the lead single “Angie” which went to #1 in the United States. The album was the last to be produced by Jimmy Miller who was a key architect of The Rolling Stones sound during their most acclaimed period which began with 1968’s Beggars Banquet. Goats Head Soup received positive reviews and achieved number one chart positions in the UK, US, and several other world markets. Sliding out of perhaps the greatest winning streak in rock history, the Stones slipped into decadence and rock star excess with Goats Head Soup, their sequel to Exile on Main St. This is where the Stones’ image began to eclipse their accomplishments, as Mick ascended to jet-setting celebrity and Keith slowly sunk deeper into addiction, and it’s possible hearing them moving in both directions on Goats Head Soup, at times in the same song. As Jagger plays the devil (or, dances with Mr. D, as he likes to say), the sex and sleaze quotient is increased, all of it underpinned by some genuinely affecting heartbreak, highlighted by “Angie.” This may not be as downright funky, freaky, and fantastic as Exile, yet the extra layer of gloss brings out the enunciated lyrics, added strings, wah-wah guitars, explicit sex, and violence, making it all seem trippily decadent. If it doesn’t seem like there’s a surplus of classics here, all the songs work well, illustrating just how far they’ve traveled in their songcraft, as well as their exceptional talent as a band — they make this all sound really easy and darkly alluring, even when the sex’n’satanism seems a little silly. To top it all of, they cap off this utterly excessive album with “Star Star,” a nasty Chuck Berry rip that grooves on its own mean vulgarity — its real title is “Starf*cker,” if you need any clarification, and even though they got nastier (the entirety of Undercover, for instance), they never again made something this dirty or nasty. And, it never feels more at home than it does at the end of this excessive record. Rainbow ~ Live In Munich 1977 2CD 2013 Ear Music Germany •• NEW ••

Ritchie Blackmore’s RAINBOW Live in Munich 1977 2CD SET BRAND NEW FACTORY SEALED Ear Music Germany 0214866EMX UPC | 4029759148661 Made in Germany 2013 TRACK LISTING DISC 1 01. Introduction 02. Kill The King 03. Mistreated 04. Sixteenth Century Greensleeves 05. Catch The Rainbow 06. Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll DISC 2 01. Man On The Silver Mountain 02. Still I’m Sad 03. Do You Close Your Eyes Oh Yeah. When Rainbow’s On Stage album was released in 1977, it felt like a flat representation of what the band were capable of live. With a few personnel changes, the group went out on tour in 1977 t to support a live album — the membership changes prevented them form working on a third studio album at the time. This live document is a complete live concert without any real production. It’s simply the band playing their asses off in October 1977. Here are Ritchie Blackmore, Ronnie James Dio, Cozy Powell, Bob Daisley, and David Stone, roaring through a set unencumbered. While the tracks closely resemble those on the live Rainbow album, they run in a different order (and alas, “Stargazer” is still not present; it wasn’t played on this night). The “Sixteenth Century Greensleeves” played here (clocking in at eight-and-21-seconds) shreds the On Stage version, as does the thrashing opener “Kill the King.” Both of these cuts were played faster and louder than anything the Sex Pistols did that year. “Catch the Rainbow” catches fire about seven-and-a-half minutes in, and Blackmore just takes off prodded on by Powell, and the cut doesn’t end until ten minutes after that. The second disc is where the real treasure lies in perhaps the best rendition of “Man on the Silver Mountain,” which clocks in at a whopping fourteen-and-a-half minutes, followed by a 25-minute “Still I’m Sad,” only to be closed out with a smoking “Do You Close Your Eyes.” Blackmore’e playing, hell, the whole band’s, is just full-on stun. It’s tight, incredibly fast, and unfettered raw Rainbow. This is the deliverance on the promise of ’70s hard rock. Get this one. No matter what; just get it. ~ Thom Jurek SHIPPING TO USA ONLY Buyer Pays Shipping $3.99 1st CD $3.99… each additional $1.50 CDs will only be combined with other CDs or DVDs To qualify for the combined discount, all items must be purchased together, paid for with 1 payment, and shipped all together in 1 shipment. Don’t Hold Your Breath Following the departure of founding member Ritchie Blackmore during the 1993 tour to support THE BATTLE RAGES ON, the band found a more permanent and less temperamental axe-slinger in the shape of former Dixie Dregs/Kansas guitarist Steve Morse. Originally released in 1996, and with all songs credited to all five band members – Jon Lord on keyboards, Ian Paice on drums, singer Ian Gillan and Roger Glover on bass guitar – guitarist Morse certainly makes his mark on this guitar orientated, and often quite experimental record. Tracks such as ‘Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming’ and ‘Vavoom: Ted the Mechanic’ would soon become mainstays of Deep Purple’s live set. Complication ꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷꟷLoudness were the first Japanese metal act signing a record deal outside their native country in the early eighties. The band was started by guitarist Akira Takasaki, bassist Hiroyuki Tanaka and drummer Munetaka Higuchi. They were technical wizards with guitars and drums, way ahead of their time and very under rated. ‘Lightning Strikes’ is their sixth studio album and their second album sung in the English language. This album is captivating from start to finish and you can listen to it over and over again and it just keeps getting better. ‘Lightning Strikes’ kicks off with the band’s most obvious attempt at pop stardom to date, the breezy “Let It Go”. When they speed-up like on “Black Star Oblivion” and “Street Life Dream” that’s where Loudness really shine!
